hurrah!
Mum finally had the op today. all eight hours of it. We didn't find out til after half 7 tonight how it had gone, so today was a LONG and rather fraught day.
But went down to see her and she was awake and chatting and wanting tea (in between bouts of morphine), which is a good sign! Just have to see how healing/recovery goes now. And how you cope with your head being held up by 2 metal rods fused to your spine...
Still. it is DONE and nothing disasterous happened (had to listen to the dr yesterday explaining What Could Go Wrong and Worst Case Scenarios, which did not help mental state today), so, YAY.
Have big plate of garlic potatoes and bottle of fizzy wine now. ANd tomorrow LOTS OF SLEEPING.
