Dooooomed!

hellisonThis was the view above me today when we were BURIED ALIVE under millimetres FEET of snow...
Was going to take proper pictures later, but bloody camera battery died, so that plan was thwarted. Instead, I slid along the back roads to the horse feed shop to stock up, then slid on up to the stables (it's mostly main roads, but up a damn steep hill), got mucking out/ making feeds made up etc done in record time, got horse tacked up and managed to be only 10 minutes late for the lesson.
There were only 4 of us for it so lots of cantering around, some leg yielding and then EEEEE jumping. A COURSE. EEEEE. Unfortunately (for me) Ziggy loved this idea and scared the life out of me charging at them at a determined canter ad totally ignoring my preference for a nice slow trot... Still we made it round (mostly) with me still on, then did it a 2nd time with them a bit lower, because I am a total chicken still when it comes to jumping. Tho was v. pleased with self for doing it and it did remind me how much fun i used to have jumping, before the Terror set in ;p
Then slid all back down the steeep hill, zoomed home along the lovely gritted motorway and am now thawed out, have had tasty foods and will shortly be sleeping. If only I didn't have to get up and go to work in the morning all would be Great.
Also spoke to b0rken Thesme on the phone. She hasn't gone mad from cabin fever *yet*, but as she is TRAPPED in the house in a cast, it might only be a matter of time... Send Happy Thoughts that way ;)
Now to get into cozy fleecy jammies that have been on the heater all evening, and sleeeeep.

Date: 2010-01-06 11:48 pm (UTC)(amazed belfast functional at all even with only light snow. usually OMG WHITE STUFF SHUT EVERYTHING! is how it goes. that and little red calling to claim he couldn't drive to the office from the *lisburn road* because of the weather one time. i was already there and i'd taken the BUS so i wasn't very sympathetic!)
