It's got bloody cold again off a sudden. That'll be a shock for the roses re-blooming in the garden...

Anyway. It is 2012 all of a sudden! 2011 was a year of Interesting Times. Definitely a year of 2 halves (as the football johnnies would say).

It started off pretty well, with NYE in london with [livejournal.com profile] thipe then DABBY wedding mid Jan and hanging with fragglechick, thesme and lazy hoor at end of Jan; can't remember anything much from feb, except not going to febmeet for the first time in manymany years...
March is kinda where it all started going wrong. There was some fun associated with turning 40, but also a fair bit of pain, due to being heavily concussed at the time. Mind you if you have to turn 40, doing it in a haze of alcohol and prolonged head injury seems as good a way as any ;p March is also when work things started to go wrong, lost one contract and had others reduced to half time - an exciting (well, shitty) taste of things to come.
April... I don't really remember, mostly due to concussion (Post Concussion Syndrome was this year's bizarre medical complaint). Did make it to Reading for a weekend tho, which was lovely, apart from one of the worst hangovers for many years (probably due to the PCS now I think about it ;p) meaning I didn't get to make hats. WOE was me.
Then May. The month of HORROR, stress and work related craziness ending in having no job, no contracts left and laying off 15 people for no reason other than civil service incompetence. That was Not Good. Ooh tho, kelmvor and adelpha did come to visit, so that was something good. Otherwise, May was BAD.

From there however, things started to pick up. June was mostly spent recovering from the stress of May while frantically trying to get horse and self fit for pony camp at the end of the month. Just about managed and had great fun at camp! Not sure Ziggy enjoyed it quite so much ;p
July... finally started to relax. Went to London for a wonderful weekend with [livejournal.com profile] being_here, which included theatre, shopping, cocktails and meeting [livejournal.com profile] tyrell. And haribo! August, I don't really remember. Mostly shuffling about the house and pottering on horse I think ;p Oh wait, tenders. That was August, endless writing, proof reading, re-writing...
September was quite a Big Month. Signed up to do a masters, which was terrifying, but has worked out to have been a Very Good Idea. Also went back to London for extended break (nearly a week!), which was one of the best holidays I have ever had. Awesometimes all round!
October passed in a haze of university panic, assignments, so much driving (why is the course not at the uni just down the road??), while at the same time desperately waiting to hear if we'd won contracts, then scrambling madly to get organised when we did.
November was busy. Busybusybusy setting up offices, getting people back to work (yay) and splitting time between uni and office, plus older brother and small nephew came home from Canada for a visit, which was lovely. December was more of the same, first half was mostly utter despair about stats assignment from hell, but then uni finished, I went to Coventry for a lovely weekend then collapsed for xmas. Hurrah!

So. Survived the year, and while I could do without a lot of the first half, the 2nd half has been incredible. Full of big change, new starts, new friends, good times and surprises.
For 2012, the only real plan is to keep going with the course, hopefully find a dissertation topic and come out with an Msc around Sept. Beyond that... not a clue. Really. Which is quite terrifying at times, but am trying not to think about it much.
Aside from that, more horse and more time with lovely friends. And family as younger brother gets married in July!
And of course not to die in a fiery volcano fuelled apocalypse ;p
