hmm friday

Friday again, and I've even done some work (go me). This week has gone very quickly tho. Possibly the vagueness while recovering from febmeet helped with that.
And finally, a quiet weekend! First one this month I think. There may even be champagne. It certainly feels like a champagne Friday [1].
But first, up to the stables tonight, and thanks to last night's many angry phone calls and other farrier-related fun I have a horse with shoes. Yay. Might just go for a hack tho, keep her fresh for tomorrow.
Tho considering she hasn't been hunting in nearly a month, I doubt anything will keep her back once she gets going.
It has occured to me I have an oddly ambivalent attitude to hunting (instead of my normal Fixed Opinion on everything). In general, I don't agree with chasing all over the countryside to tear an animal apart and I certainly wouldn't do it myself, but specifically, I have no real objections to other people doing it.
Considering I ride a hunter and put a lot of effort into keeping her fit and able to hunt, it would be a bit hypocritical if I did.
I guess when it comes to foxes, I'm pro-choice rather than pro-life.
happy weekending all
[1] Eatin's Champagne Theory.
The local offy sells Piper Heisdeck for c.£18 and Pol Roger (hmmmm) for £22.
Now considering one would normally spend at least £40 on a night out, staying in with a bottle of Piper actually SAVES me at least £22. Which is enough for a bottle of Pol Roger tomorrow night ;)
I just have to resist the vintage. It doesn't fit the theory quite so well. But it tastes so so good...
