May. 26th, 2005 12:51 pmDay off yesterday was great. I had a huge List of Things to Do and I did about... one of them. There should be more days like that!
Still undecided about going to the conference thing at the weekend. Archaeology conferences are a bit like mudmeets - lots of strange looking people hanging around hotel bars talking about things no-one else understands at great length while getting very very drunk. The endless talking of shop can get very very boring tho.
Can't make any of the lecture part, due to horse, but given titles such as Interpretation of bone injuries from Danish prehistory and Climate change and sociopolitical crises in Neolithic societies of Central Europe I'm not sure I'm missing much. Some of the talks do look more interesting, but I have learnt over the years that they rarely live up to this promise.
And I have no idea wtf this bit is about - Screening of the documentary film ‘Dead Birds’ with introduction and discussion
I will no doubt end up going along for the drinking at some point tho ;)
Speaking of mudmeets, we need more people to come to crewood!

Some of you have very valid reasons for non-attendance, but the rest of you?
There will be fun and bonfires and singing (allegedly) and sheep and Newgrange and lots and lots of drinking. Cheap flights abound, to both belfast and dublin ;)
Should probably mention this on the mud as well.

Date: 2005-05-28 03:10 am (UTC)Is it some sort of thought control site?
I have no thought. I need direction, but they have failed to provide me with sufficient operating parameters. I shall therefore resolve myself to doing nothing until the proper motivation comes along.
