Swimming!

Got overcome with mouse queasiness in the last post *scrubscrubscrub*, so forgot about the swimming.

Finally made it to the pool and since I need incentive to keep going, I thought I would post here for a bit, following [livejournal.com profile] vashti's lead.

It is many years since I swum (swam?) regularly, used to go off at lunchtime, jump in, do 30 lenghts, get out & go back to work. Last night I did manage to do around 30 (lost count) but not all at once! The most I could manage without stopping was 6, so still a way to go there. Still, 30+ lenghts of a 25m pool isn't bad going - 800m or so?

The pool isn't open to the public every night, but they do have aqua aerobic type things on some nights too, so I might try that, looks like fun.

But tonight, it is cinema not exercise - Batman Begins.

Aqua Aerobics is top, but exhausting. :)

Yeah, I used to do it years ago, always found it fun and knackering, but without the sheer horror and shame of an actual aerobics class.

Mmm, Christian Bale in rubber...

Did you find it hard getting back into swimming again? I'd like to start again, but have a nasty feeling I'd struggle to doggy paddle :P

It was hard at first - i completely forgot about breathing and got at stitch after 5 lenghts :p but by the end it was starting to come back to me. Not that I was ever much for technique anyway ;p

I'll see how I get on tonight!
