Rain rain rain

hellisonWhy does nobody like the rain? And why do people get SO paranoid about getting wet? You won't melt!
I nearly missed my train home yesterday waiting for a friend who was so panicked about it raining she was faffing about for ages trying to find a brolly or a spare coat, finally found a rain coat and went out into what was basically a very light shower very firmly zipped in and hooded like she was about to face a monsoon.
I imagine part of it is linked to the current mania for poker straight hair, but that leads to another rant entirely ;p
Ok, constant dreary downpours are no fun, but am I really the only one who doesn't mind getting a bit damp?
I LIKE summer rain showers. Especially the really quick, heavy ones that come out of nowhere and disappear again. Plus jumping in puddles is great fun ;)
ION, from Neil Gaiman's blog - I've never had a stalker, I'm glad to say, and am very happy for it to stay like that. I know a handful of authors who have had stalkers or unhinged fans hiding in their attics or whatever, though, so I think I'm either very lucky, or more likely, that I just have very nice fans
I sense a vacancy just BEGGING to be filled. And he's bound to have lovely roomy attics, stuffed full of books and comics and stuff. Heaven.

Date: 2006-04-25 02:37 am (UTC)Splosh! i like rain too. Specially when I have waterproof troosers and a rain coat on. I like big storms - head down to the sea and watch the waves crashing in. I like thunderstorms - drive up the mountains in the car and dodge the lightning. I like heavy showers - hail bouncing off my head. I like sunshine - off to the beach for a swim. I like fog - ghosty.
