Rain rain rain
Apr. 25th, 2006 10:03 amWhy does nobody like the rain? And why do people get SO paranoid about getting wet? You won't melt!
I nearly missed my train home yesterday waiting for a friend who was so panicked about it raining she was faffing about for ages trying to find a brolly or a spare coat, finally found a rain coat and went out into what was basically a very light shower very firmly zipped in and hooded like she was about to face a monsoon.
I imagine part of it is linked to the current mania for poker straight hair, but that leads to another rant entirely ;p
Ok, constant dreary downpours are no fun, but am I really the only one who doesn't mind getting a bit damp?
I LIKE summer rain showers. Especially the really quick, heavy ones that come out of nowhere and disappear again. Plus jumping in puddles is great fun ;)
ION, from Neil Gaiman's blog - I've never had a stalker, I'm glad to say, and am very happy for it to stay like that. I know a handful of authors who have had stalkers or unhinged fans hiding in their attics or whatever, though, so I think I'm either very lucky, or more likely, that I just have very nice fans
I sense a vacancy just BEGGING to be filled. And he's bound to have lovely roomy attics, stuffed full of books and comics and stuff. Heaven.

Date: 2006-04-25 02:28 am (UTC)He lives in Maryland I think. I have no idea if that's near Canada or not, but I'm sure there's flights!

Date: 2006-04-25 02:35 am (UTC)wait a minute though - he thinks he has nice fans? but, um, he's met you. and you proclaimed your love! and then ran away! which is, you know, totally well balanced behaviour. obviously.

Date: 2006-04-25 02:26 am (UTC)This does have its drawbacks - this does not work in Vancouver on a seriously rainy day...just too much rain, even in the very sexy wet weather gear! That had me beat but did mean an enjoyable day in coffee shops cradling hot chocolate and daydreaming.
I sense a vacancy just BEGGING to be filled. And he's bound to have lovely roomy attics, stuffed full of books and comics and stuff. Heaven.
Mmmm, I know but he has NICE fans, remember! And you would spend far too much time rummaging and not enough doing the actual stalking :)
I am still stuck on the thought of goat merkins myself.......

Date: 2006-04-25 02:37 am (UTC)Splosh! i like rain too. Specially when I have waterproof troosers and a rain coat on. I like big storms - head down to the sea and watch the waves crashing in. I like thunderstorms - drive up the mountains in the car and dodge the lightning. I like heavy showers - hail bouncing off my head. I like sunshine - off to the beach for a swim. I like fog - ghosty.
I like
WEATHER.

(and sorry for just jumping in your journal like this, but I followed your icon from his post :D)

Date: 2006-04-25 06:27 am (UTC)It's a fab icon isn't it? Of course what it misses is the fact that just after it was taken I declared my love for him and ran away in embarassement ;p

Date: 2006-04-25 06:31 am (UTC)Yes, it's a great icon!! Lol, did you really do that?? Hehe, I'm trying to convince my mum to let me to go to FantasyCon this year and I'll probably end up disgracing myself in a similar manner. I'd jump up and down and yell "Remember me?? I sent you the link to the first photos from Stardust!" and then I'll notice everyone staring, turn the colour of a tomato and sink down through the floor.

Date: 2006-04-25 01:01 pm (UTC)I know!!! I could hardly believe it, I only found out just before I left for Uni this morning and I was so head in the clouds after that that I was almost flattened by a car several times O.o Plus I spent the rest of the day going insane and telling everyone I know XD So, while I might not have died from fangirl overload yet, I'm pretty darn close to it! (is still squeeing insanely)
