Accident proneness
May. 22nd, 2006 04:44 pmIt just occurred to me, as I sit here trying to figure out how to get a plaster to stay on the top of my thumb (how DO you manage that?) that I have been even more accident-prone than usual lately. As a child I was reknowned for my ability to fall over/off/down anything in my vicinity with an added knack for cutting myself on any vaguely sharp implement left unattended for more that 30 seconds.
Most children do this I'm sure. However I'm sure most people actually grow out of it at some point. Not me!
In just the last week i have managed to -
Stand on glass in bare feet at Thesme's party.
Cut heels on shoes I had forgotten were Heel Destroyers.
Be tripped by New Shoes of Evil, losing much of the skin off one knee & shin.
Almost slice off top of thumb cutting potatoes, leading to much bleeding over the kitchen.
I had to buy more plasters this morning. I'm hoping particular run of self-destruction in tiny phases ends soon. Also, it hurts!

Date: 2006-05-22 09:01 am (UTC)I fell over so often as a child that I wasn't allowed a pair of trousers til I was 12. And then I got a lovely black velvet pair (this was the early 80's).
I wore them for the very first time to Mass then, after much pleading, was allowed to go to my friend's house, just round the corner, in them. I got half way there and fell over, ripping the knees out of them ;p

I trust you were allowed a SKIRT at least???
Although, skirt + falling = skint legs!!!
That's amusingly cruel!! *starts laughing again*
(sorry!!!)
