I got a new phone! It is an LG Chocolate Phone. Tho sadly not *actually* chocolate.

Phone shops confuse me with their endless choice and strange jargon, so I tend to panic, point at random and say 'I want that one'. Apparently this one is quite the trendy thing, which is a bit of a first for me. It does look very funky and so far has been easy enough to figure out.

Too easy in fact, for one downside is that the ringtones it came with are really really bad, so *somehow* I managed, while drunk on friday night to get online on it, find downloadable ringtones and may now have set it to Jump In My Car . I blame the cider.

The only other downside (so far) is that it has no loudspeaker function, which is a bit annoying, but otherwise, it makes calls and sends texts, so it's all good. The camera doesn't seem too bad either and, apparently, it is also an mp3 player, tho have yet to test that.

Mostly, I need to rediscover how I downloaded that ringtone and find one I actually like ;p

In other news, had a mostly quiet weekend, tho obviously, got rather tipsy friday night on cava and cider and stayed up far too late playing with new phone, and rambling at people on teh internet.

Saturday got soaked repeatedly while tending to Horse, then went to pub for teh logue's birthday and ended up formulating cunning plan to evade Christmas Dinner while E. sighed over our ingrained anti-social tendancies.

Sunday, Shopping With Mother, which happily did not end in bloodshed - and only came close about twice. So that's a win ;)

I miss my Samsung A300... no camera, black and white screen, no music playback, and I don't think it could download ringtones either... just a simple flip-screen phone... it was bliss. Best phone I've ever had.

is it bad of me that i want a nokia, of all manufacturers, n-gage, just to play the Rifts game? bloody fools not releasing it for GBA, I'm almost not upset they almost went under this year.

Heh for years I had that really basic nokia, just calls and texts, it was great! Then I left it in a taxi.
Last one was a bit fancier, with camera and picture texting! but that was about it.

This one does Stuff that I will probably enver figure out, or use, but, it fits in my pocket. So it's all good really ;p

The one and only time I bought a mobile phone, I took uon's one in with me, showed the man behind the counter, and said "I want this one. But in a different colour so we can tell them apart". He said it was very unusual for someone to come in and know exactly what they wanted, but really it was because I'd already learnt how to use it and had no intention of spending time on learning how to use something different.

Yours sounds very cool! Good luck with the ringtone...

Oooh, I have one of those. :o) I got one when they first came out, being a bit of a phone geek.

All very lovely and groovy. My only gripes with it are:

1. The touchy screen stuff doesn't work too well if your hands are hot.

2. They hardly work at all when the phone is charging.

3. The little cleaner thing is a b*tch to attach, but worth it.

4. Scratches very easily.


But it is lovely. The wallpapers are nice.

Heh, i haven't found the wallpapers yet, but I have a picture of ziggy as one anyway (yay phone cam :p)

The cleaner thingy really was a bugger to attach, i nearly gave up!
It is fun so far, and I've managed to do fiddly stuff with it without much bother, so yay!

how it will survive a winter stuck in my pocket while riding tho, I'm not so sure ;p

I have an Ericsson W-something or other - the newer version of Unhurtie's. It's grate, but he bloody battery is now LOOSE! I've had to roll up some paper and stick it into the battery compartment. BAH.

But! It has a cool camera, and does mp3s for ringtones! PLUS when I get a text it's my gf's voice saying 'jingle jingle' at me :-) AND it does bluetooth, though I don't know many people who have it too. :(

My ringtone is Dangermouse, and I've set my alarm to Thomas the Tank Engine (this works as I find the themetune very disturbing).

It also has a tertris clone called Quadra Pop, which I have a high score of more than 70,000 for. :-o

Who makes your phone? Do you have a linky? J needs to upgrade her phone at some point, I may assist her!

Actually, it's dead good! I was photographing the fish at the museum, and when I put the torch on, they came over to investigate! So top fish pics!

Plus I can find things under the bed. I like torches!

Ooh Dangermouse, that would be cool! My little bro. had the Thundercats theme for a while, which was great ;)

I can't seem to set anything fun for the texts tho, but I think I can record stuff (still haven't figured it all out yet ;p) And I have bluetooth too!

The only game it has is sudoku tho, and I can't make it turn off the hints, which are just annoying.

In mine, to record stuff you either have to dig through some menus, or just go to the text-writing thing and try and find 'send voicemail', that genereally gets you into the recording thing on most phones.
