Meh. Meh meh meh stupid rainy wet November. Meh.

Which sums up how I felt this morning. HOWEVER things are not all bad. On the plus side...

1. The plumber is coming tonight, yay! Not quite sure how or where he'll fit in between horse/pilates/mulled wine, but I'm sure I'll manage. Principally by leaving work an hour early I reckon.

2. The horse is fix0red! Well mostly - the equine physio lady (more of a horse pokerer than whisperer) came on Tuesday and did the pokey stretchy massagey thing; said she had a very very stiff shoulder and worse hip, with lots of scar tissue, poor Zigs, but she should be fine. We have to do the leg lifty/shoulder rotatey things on her daily tho, which she is NOT impressed about at all (Ziggy that is, not the horse pokerer). She already looks much happier and will ride tomorrow and see how she feels.

3. Stuff ordered AGES ago (over a month) from Blackmarket Beagles has finally arrived! I had almost given up and WOULD have emailed cafe press about it, except I can't get into hotmail at all atm to get the email. But it's all here now, except I have to go to Tomb St and pick it up and pay customs on it. Damn Americans.

So. I want Reasons to be Cheerful from the rest of you! What's made your crappy november day a bit brighter?

"A what now?!?"

Well I couldn't see just what she did with them, cos I was holding the head and she was right at the back... but Ziggy's eyes pretty much did what they do in this icon ;p

The nasty man who was attacking wimmin in the Wicklow mountains has been arrested and so I can go walking again
A job has been advertised in the Institute of Public Health that I am actually qualified for and with a starting salary 20,000 higher than my current salary and and AND it is based in Dublin AND Belfast and I would have to travel between the two offices (now I haven't got this job yet but the fact that it exists is immensely cheering)
I think the roofers are doing our roof.

Meant to reply to your post yesterday. I had similar WOE 10 years ago when we lived in Watford. We were on the top floor of a block of flats. When it rained we noticed a spot on our celing got dark. It got darker. And darker. We told the landlord 'I'll get someone round' he said. Darker, darker darker. Then a lump of the ceiling fell out one Saturday tea-time. The following Monday with one of our friends kipping on the couch, the entire ceiling came down. On top of Dave. It was like ground zero. He survived, we fleed to my parents, the landlord tried to sue us. Fortunately I started off doing a law degree so knew to take photographic evidence.

Ah, happy days.

Photoshopping reindeer made my day brighter actually.

From: [identity profile] hellison.livejournal.com
Hehe that reindeer brightened up my day too!

Alas the perils of house ownership mean i have no landlord to blame this on and have to be GROWN UP and sort it out myself. WOE WOE WOE.

OTOH, I might get a nice new bathroom, since the current one is clearly fucked. And a horrible colour.

Date: 2006-11-23 12:13 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] lazy-hoor.livejournal.com
What colour? We had a dusky pink one, and an olive green one (both in the 80s).

Date: 2006-11-23 12:17 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] hellison.livejournal.com
Ooh we had that green at home for YEARS.

According to the estate agents it is 'champagne', which means it's a sort of yellowy beige...

From: [identity profile] lazy-hoor.livejournal.com
Oh yes, we had one of those too! We moved house a lot if you're wondering... :\

I woke up to the sound of rain, but it stopped in time for me to ride to work.
Several of the Orable-related projects are about to have a fist-fight over who gets to use a certain customisable field for what (which gives me an evil happy glow inside).
I'm chatting to an apparently cute 20-y-o with long blond hair online.
All the references to "horse pokerer" have left me shaking with laughter.

Date: 2006-11-23 01:32 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] hellison.livejournal.com
Heh, all very good reasons.

I am going to have such a hard time not referring to her as the 'horse pokerer' round the stables from now own ;p

Also, I very nearly typoed that as 'horse poRKere', which I think has a rather different connotation...

oh oh oh! i got a customs notice too! NOT LOST! woohoo! still. how can they charge me tax on fuckin' t-shirts?

p.s. bugger pilates, get your re-plumbed self down to j&a's once he's done fiddling with your pipes.

From: [identity profile] hellison.livejournal.com
Nearly a fecking tenner for 2 tshirts and note book!

Will see re pilates, I skipped it last week due to being excessively hungover, missing 2 weeks inna row generally leads to MUCH PAIN on week 3...

but I suspect mr plumber-to-the-archaeologists won't be finished in time for me to go anyway.

So how was the horse fux0red before being fix0red by the horse porkerer?

Did you manage to squeeze the plumber in? (*fnar*)

Date: 2006-11-24 02:09 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] hellison.livejournal.com
Old muscle injuries, probably from last season's hunting, that had totally stiffened up and have lots of scar tissue built up. But the horse pokerer unlocked the joints and we have to do leg rotatey things and massage to keep it all move and she should be fine!

And NO, fecking plumber never fecking showed up. WOE.
