Just went to take a look out before bed and wow. SNOW!

You know, if this keeps up, I might genuinely be snowed in by the morning!

ETA am indeed sort of snowed it. If I was on 2 legs I could have made it out (if the trains were running) but as it is, I am staying put. Apparently quite a few others who ARE able-legged didn't make it to work either!



Not terribly scenic as they're either from the back door or the front door, which didn't allow much of a range ;p

Still unsure about getting to Dublin this afternoon, but if it does rain as promised, it should be ok. Alternative is driving down tomorrow morning, but don't fancy facing early morning ice either. Hmm.

Heh stupid camera phone ;p I have photos with proper camera too, will post in a bit when I find the usb lead. Tho, all from the back door as I am not going out in it!

Also, WEATHERNERD, it's neary midday and it hasn't really started to melt. Is it going to go at all?

It is.You will have to wait for the warm front to cross. You can track warm front progress by looking at the radar:

The rain = where the warm front is. As the front approaches it will snow, then sleet, then rain. Temps in front of the front are below freezing, behind it are up to 9C. Mad, eh? Temps in Dublin have risen to 1C from -2C and will continue to rise.

There is a risk of Rapid Cyclongenesis due to the presence of such steep temperature gradients, but this will result in high winds rather than snow etc so shouldn't impede driving tonight. However WEATHERNERD services are currently monitoring the potential for RACY to see how high winds will get.
