Physio 2:5

All going well this time round - after 5 sessions she no longer thinks I'll need more surgery, at least not in the immediate future, which is a BIG relief.

Have lots of calf stretching exercises to do now to work on dorsal flexion (yay i knows big wurds), as well as balancing on one leg stuff. Which i can do on the wii fit ;)

She also suggested I try MBT shoes and gave me the no. of a physio who sells them. So may try that out.

Has anyone ever given them a go? Or even know anyone who's tried them?

Ooh also saw Smallsarah being tortured too, she even flashed her cage at me! So, it could be worse. A LOT worse!

ION pretty much set for [livejournal.com profile] mollow and [livejournal.com profile] leeda's wedding this weekend. Just need a HAT. And a present...

elo did you get ma email?

ps Mr T bought MBT shoes. Er. Er. He doesn't like them.

Why is smallsarah in a cage?

[identity profile] hellison.livejournal.com 2008-06-25 03:24 pm (UTC)(link)
Nope, no email here! Woe.

She wants me to go to a physio person to try them, rather than just get them in a shop, to see if they'll do any good. But apparently cos i walk on me toes anyway they should suit? Or something

Smallsarah is in a cage cos her leg is even more mutantly short than mine so she got it BROKEN ON PURPOSE and a cage put on to stretch teh bones out *shudders*

I bought some MBTs last week and they are the best things I have ever worn on my feet. Srsly. I LOVE them.

[identity profile] hellison.livejournal.com 2008-06-25 04:04 pm (UTC)(link)
I've always wondered what they'd be like ;) Will ring up tomorrow I think and see if i can arrange Testing!

Did someone have to show you how to work them btw?

[identity profile] reuss.livejournal.com 2008-06-25 04:12 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, I bought them in a shop where they checked the fit properly and made me walk up and down in them for 15 mins to check them out.

Walking feels odd to start with, but lovely, like the ground is nice and soft. Standing still is harder work 'cause you're needing to adjust your balance a bit, but it's not painful. I find that my leg muscles and stomach muscles ache like I've been using them a lot more, but my lower back (after some initial ache) is feeling pretty good and my shoulders have never been less tense.

Sounds like fun! The physio wanted me to go to another physio to try them, presumably cos of my extreme wonkiness, so will see if i can arrange that tomorrow ;)

Ooh if I don't see you before, have a FAB holiady!!

Someone at work has MBTs and thinks they're great, but I did read recently that some physios have claimed they can cause injury.
