The following routes have been affected by protests: - Westlink, closed at Broadway; Kingsway at Dunmurry; Upper Malone Rd at Dub Lane and West Circular Rd.

Oh the smugness of having left work at 3.30 and got home JUST in time. By the time I got to the crossroads in Dunmurry, the cops were already out diverting traffic.
Not going to the stables tonight, Zigs has worked hard this week so she can have a night off. Haven't decided yet about going to Pilates, I shall keep an ear on the radio and see how it goes, it isn't til 8.30 anyway.

I don't understand what they're trying to accomplish, apart from pi$$ off an awful lot of people by stopping them getting home after work.

I think there's a pilates course starting here some time soon. What do you think of it? Anything like yoga?

It is very similar to yoga, some of the exercises are the same and the whole breathing thing is similar. The main emphasis seems to be (so far) on toning muscles and strengthing the back and abdominal muscles.

I've been to... 4 classes so far, really enjoyed it, and its harder work than you'd imagine!

as for what they hope to accomplish I have no idea. I really don't like the way they're using kids so the police can't force them off the road - not to mention the threat of violence if they try to remove them.
Of course if the police *did* try to move them and the paramilitaries shot at them and hit the kids it would be all the fault of the police, the government, the pope, the aliens, the voices in their heads...

I wonder if they've thought of calling in social services. Dumping your kid in the middle of the road doesn't seem particularly good for the child.

It worries me because I reckon its only a matter of time before some stressed out commuter or someone trying to get to one of the hospitals flips and just tries to drive straight through them.
Using children like that is just cowardly and sick.
